Donald Trump briefly halted his speech during a campaign rally in Perry, Georgia, on Saturday after reacting to what he described as a popping noise coming from the audience.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Speaking to a packed arena, Trump stopped mid-sentence while discussing China to question the audience about the noise. “Did you hear that sound? I didn’t like the, I didn’t like the sound,” he said. Trump added, “Heard a little pop. You know, when I hear a pop, I say, what was that little sucker? I just heard a pop. We okay? Yes. Don’t worry about it.”<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Reaction and Apparent Butler Reference<\/h2>\r\n\r\n

During the pause, Trump remarked, “When I hear a pop, I say ooooooooh.” The reaction appeared to be a reference to the July assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, where 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired shots at Trump, wounding his ear.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Later in the speech, Trump delivered an economic announcement regarding industrial development in the state. He announced that German automaker Audi has committed $4.2 billion to construct a new vehicle manufacturing facility in nearby Macon, Georgia.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

“Audi has just committed to invest $4.2 billion in nearby Macon, Georgia to begin the construction next month on a massive plant that will produce 200,000 cars a year,” Trump told the crowd, characterizing the project as the largest single investment in the modern history of the American auto industry.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Trump stated that the broader American automotive sector is undergoing a revival, asserting that 30,000 new jobs and approximately $40 billion in investments were entering the industry.
